      1. David had emailed all ADs MEL championship information.
      2. David requested finals be held starting at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 1st because of a conflict with the facility.  Napa, Vacaville and Wood all have “Prom” on that date and the time delay would cause a problem.
      3. Scott Kostecka suggested that David investigate with UCD the possibility of changing the swimming to Thursday, Friday with Diving on Saturday.  David will report to Board of Managers on April 20th.
    7. Tennis
      1. MEL Tournament is May 6th.  Singles and May 7th for doubles.  Both held at Vintage.
      2. Section Tournament will also be held at Vintage May 13th and 14th.

    2. The remaining schedules, Cross Country, Track, Baseball, B Tennis, G Soccer will be presented at Board of Managers Meeting.
    3. Spring Break may present some new problems next year so each school will come with the dates of their Spring Break for the year 2005 to the Board of Managers meeting.
    4. Volleyball game “day of week” needs to be determined by board of Managers.  M/W  or W/F
  5. Section Back-Up Material
    1. The packets were handed out by Joan.  2 per school.
    2. Briefly reviewed the items in the packet.  ADs will discuss with Principals before the board Meeting April 20, 2004.
  6. Other
    1. Foundation Games --  The Section put out a list of schools who had scheduled games in Volleyball and B/G Basketball by March 31st.  All MEL schools are encouraged to schedule Foundation Games since the proceeds go directly to the Dale Lacky Awards.
    2. Joan stated that scores for Spring contests are not being sent in making it very difficult to update the web site.  Each AD needs to check their sport for missing scores on the web site, get those missing scores and send them to Joan via email.
    3. Standing Committee – Joan indicated that she would like to form a standing committee (from retired ADs and/or coaches) to handle such items as appeals, Dale Lacky recipients, etc.  The Athletic Directors felt this was a good idea.
    4. Scott asked for salary schedules from the other districts so that Napa would have comparison rates when discussing coaching/AD salaries.

      2. Athletic Council  5/5/2004  8:30 at SCOE

Respectfully submitted,

Joan Mumaugh
